Description
The purpose of the Alcohol/Drug Intervention Service is to: provide a
continuum of coordinated, interdisciplinary services address the rehabilitation
and community living goals of persons with physical/cognitive disabilities
and untreated chemical dependence.
Services Provided
- Clients short-term intervention, and referrals for chemically dependent
or high risk clients
- Education regarding alcohol/drug use/abuse and specific physical &
cognitive impairments
- Health Care Staff, Education, skills training, and consultation
regarding chemical dependence
- Provision of education materials to assist all team members in responding
to the needs of this client group
- Community Caregivers, Education, skills training, consultation
regarding chemical dependence
- Provision of education materials & resources
- Consultation regarding policies, procedures, and programming which
is responsive to the needs of this client group in community settings
